World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10th within Mental Health Awareness Month. The aim is to promote mental health advocacy and to educate the public on relevant issues.

This year's theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is 'Mental Health in an Unequal World'.

It's important to help raise awareness on mental health issues to remove any stigma that is still surrounding mental health illnesses. Many individuals with a mental illness do not receive the treatment that they are entitled to and continue to experience stigma and discrimination.

The Coronavirus pandemic had a major impact on a lot of people's mental health and disrupted some services. The need to scale up quality mental health services has been recognised by governments across the globe.

With 1 in 5 employees experiencing moderate to high levels of stress, it's important for employers to look at how they can support employee wellbeing. You might want to consider educating the workplace on mental health issues to recognise signs in themselves and others.

Our TQUK Level 2 Award in Emergency Response for Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) develops learners' knowledge and understanding of mental health issues.
