Who is it for?

As children and infants are much smaller and delicate in comparison to adults, they will require a different delivery of first aid care in the event of an accident or injury.

This accredited course is ideal for those working within nurseries and schools to provide them with the skills to effectively treat children in their care and provide them with the knowledge to take action in an emergency situation.

This course is also assessed under the new RQF Framework. You can learn more about these changes in our informative blog which covers the new learning outcomes.

Course features

  • Qualification for every learner
  • Engaging teaching methods including demonstrations, role plays and discussions
  • First aid manual included
  • This course meets all of the OFSTED requirements for first aid provision in schools

Topics covered

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand the role of a paediatric first aider and will be able to provide effective first aid treatment to infants and children suffering from a range of injuries including shock, choking and minor injuries. Learners will also be taught how to correctly place electrode pads to a child and how to follow both the visual and vocal prompts of an AED should a child suffer a cardiac arrest.
