First Aid Fanatics are here and eager to teach you more about our important First Aid Tips to ensure you are able to act fast and respond effectively to an emergency situation.

You will meet each of the eleven crew members throughout the year as they take turns in providing you with a lesson in their topic of speciality.

At imperative, we want to ensure everyone knows the importance of acting fast in an emergency situation. First aid knowledge can deteriorate in as little as three months but our First Aid Fanatics are not going to let that happen. They will be here to keep you up to date and below you can find out what to expect from them.

CPR with Sabrina

Next month you will meet Sabrina who will teach you everything there is to know about CPR. Sabrina is known for often using magic from the “Spooky Jar” to respond to all sorts of perceived emergencies.

However, Sabrina has since learned that using magic is usually not the solution to everyday problems which is why knowledge of CPR has proven to be more powerful than any sort of magic.

Defibrillation with Danny

In June, lessons in defibrillation will be brought to you by Danny. Danny will explain everything from what a defibrillator is, how you can use one in a cardiac emergency to save a person’s life and he’ll help you to separate the fact from the fiction about these life-saving devices.

Epilepsy with Ebony

Ebony knows everything there is to know about epilepsy and she is looking forward to sharing her knowledge with you in July. Epilepsy affects more than 500,000 people in the UK, so it is important for more to be aware of how they should care for someone that is experiencing an epileptic seizure.

Heart Attacks with Harry

Harry will cover heart attacks in August, including the difference between a heart attack and a sudden cardiac arrest which are commonly mistaken for one another.

Recovery Position with Ricky

In September you can expect to learn about the recovery position with Ricky. He will explain when it is necessary to put someone into the recovery position and how to do so.

Sprains and Strains with Sally

Sally will go over a lesson in sprains and strains in October to make sure you have the confidence to treat either one of these injuries if you or someone else were to ever experience one.

Strokes with Scarlett

Scarlett is our expert in strokes, in November she will explain that someone in the UK suffers a stroke every five minutes which is one of the main reasons is important you know how to act FAST.

First Aid Kit with Fred

You needn’t wish for anything more this Christmas as Fred will be bringing you a lesson on first aid kits. Just call him Fred Claus.

Bleeds with Buffy

Buffy knows all about controlling bleeding wounds; she was a vampire slayer after all. Although now she is here to share her knowledge with you to ensure you can effectively reduce blood loss when dealing with a bleeding wound.

Burns and Scalds with Bruce

Bruce brings his knowledge on treating burns and scalds as these are common accidents that can occur no matter how careful you are, so it is important that you know how to deal with them.

Choking/Infant Choking with Charlie

Lastly, Charlie will cover what you should do if you witness either an adult or an infant choking. Anyone that is choking will require urgent attention and Charlie will go through each step to make sure you could confidently provide help in this situation.
