Overview

A food safety certificate is essential when working within the food industry. You can gain the necessary qualifications required simply by completing one of our training courses that teaches candidates safe food handling, the importance of hygiene and how to keep food preparation areas at the required level of cleanliness for safety purposes.

This course is relevant for anyone who is working or looking to work within a job where handling or serving food is a part of their day-to-day tasks, this including working within a kitchen, a care home or a shop where fresh food is prepared. Staff working must be able to produce a food safety training certificate and be able to understand all safety procedures to ensure safe practice within their working environment.

The assessment for this certificate needs to be refreshed every 3 years and is assessed through a 45-minute online course. Through this, learners will be taught how to conduct themselves safely within a food environment as well as learning about contamination and best practice in keeping their working area clean.

Candidates will be taught the different and most appropriate cleaning methods to use as well as pest control. They will also discover how to cook, transport and handle food safely, keeping food safe from spoiling and also learning the danger zones of temperature and what causes different types of food to spoil.

An extra module within this course teaches candidates about stock control, this is beneficial for the learner as it will allow them to explore different areas of the food industry where this knowledge is relevant such as manufacturing, schools, food handlers, restaurants and other staff and employees.
