Our four day first aid instructor course includes the nationally recognised Edexcel Level 4 Award in PTLLS - Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector certificate giving all our successful candidates a professional teaching qualification.
By 2010, anyone who teaches courses that are publicly-funded will have to be qualified. This qualification introduces the knowledge and skills required by teachers to develop and deliver programmes, provide learning support and take responsibility in managing the learning process in post-16 education.
The only entry requirements for candidates who want to take this qualification are that they have a current first aid at work certificate.
Our PTLLS course is now available online with a microteach session to complete the course.
what will I learn during the training?
- Understand your own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
- Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within a specialist area
- Demonstrate your session planning skills – plan, deliver, observe and evaluate a micro-teaching session
- Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions that motivate learners
- Understand the use of different assessment methods
- Understand and analyse the need for accurate record keeping and procedures that can be adopted – including internal and external assessment information.
- Learn the structure and styles of delivery to successfully teach and assess the full range of HSE first aid courses
All successful candidates will receive a
