How to provide CPR to a casualty

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, commonly known as CPR, is an emergency procedure that is used if someone is not breathing properly or if their heart has stopped. The combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths keep blood and oxygen circulating the body.

Providing CPR to a casualty experiencing cardiac arrest will get their heart in a shockable rhythm ready for the use of a defibrillator.

You should continue CPR until help arrives or if the casualty regains consciousness / starts breathing normally.
